Post-doc “Regional assessment of cetacean abundance and distribution in the Bay of Biscay and the Iberian coast”.

One-year postdoctoral research position. Within the CetAMBICion project, the candidate will develop and streamline a methodological framework to calculate regional GHG indicators for cetaceans in the Bay of Biscay and Iberian Coast sub-region. More specifically, he/she will work on the task of “Data collection and joint analysis and identification of data gaps”.

Thesis Grant: The distribution and abundance of cetaceans in Irish waters

PhD studentship in Ireland (4 years University College, Cork) The PhD student will join a diverse group of researchers at UCC and contribute to an ambitious aerial survey programme. He will participate as an observer in dedicated marine megafauna surveys (cetaceans, seabirds, turtles, sharks) and undertake a programme to study the distribution of marine megafauna in Irish waters. Aerial surveys throughout the Irish EEZ will be carried out in summer and winter 2021 and 2022.
